We're off to Erlangen

It's finally been confirmed. Ross has a teaching placement in Erlangen which is in the northern part of the South German Land Bavaria. It's 10 miles north of Nuremberg, located directly on the autobahn system and the nearest airport is Nuremberg.

We only found out this evening and Ross has had the pleasure of translating many pages of German received from his placement. I even started looking for jobs this evening. I'll hopefully find something soon. As Nuremberg is only 10 miles away I have the choice of both cities. Siemens seem to be a big employer, and there are lots of Schools, and a very large University.

At this stage we really don't have much information on Erlangen, so many evenings will be spent on the computer looking for everything we need. It seems a really nice place at first glance.

I handed in my notice at work, unfortunately the Career Break I asked for was declined as there are too many changes about to happen to my department and it would cause too much disruption when I returned.

Ross is enjoying his summer teaching job. He spends the morning teaching, then takes the students out for the afternoon to areas around the town, or an activity like bowling or the cinema. The School pays for his travel and expenses so he gets an afternoons free entertainment. The only downside is the School are very badly organised so sometimes the activities go wrong. Its all an experience though!

That's pretty much up to date. Any further news I will post asap.

Lots of love xx
